Birch Bay State Park

March  2004

Was a nice get-together on the weekend of March the 19th with friends. I met up with Wade, Dean and Roger C, with their families.

I had never been to Birch Bay before. The beach and campground were great. However, the utility hook-up sites weren't much better than Wal-Mart parking but the non-utility sites were fabulous. I took a non-utility site next to Wade and ran an extension cord from his site to my site (I paid the full utility price for my site even though it had no utilities).

Temperatures were in the upper 50s to lower 60s. The only rain we saw was on Friday and that lasted only 20 minutes before the clouds parted and the sun came out..

Dean brought his Telescopes and we had clear nights both Friday and Saturday. We viewed a few planets including Jupiter, rings and all.. Fabulous telescopes he has.. It wasn't perfect conditions for star gazing but it was adequate to get some good views of the planets.

Dean's Dobsonian telescope hooked to a CCD camera then to my TV.

We were looking at cars on the other side of the bay with this set-up. ;)

Relaxing around the campfire.

Kyia seems to be interested in that bird.

Check out the LED lighting..  LED on porch and the light on the inside towards the right.
