LCD HD TV install

After much searching, I decided on the Toshiba 15DLV77. It has a digital and analog tuner built in plus a DVD player as well. It still has the old 4:3 ratio screen size but it is HD (720p). TV reception is great in both analog and Digital mode. Works with my existing RV bat-wing antenna made by Winegard. The wall mount is made by Peerless.

What you can't see here is that I added extra support for the cabinet wall on the inside. I bought piece of 3x3 hard wood and cut it just short enough to squeeze in from top to bottom on the inside left. I then drilled pilot holes for the screws.

I secured the 3x3 with two long screws on the top and bottom side. I used brass designer cabinet screws ( you can see one of them directly below the bracket). The other is near the top. These were heavy duty screws however still looked nice to the eye. I then positioned the bracket not for the center of the hard wood but for the best position of the TV. As you can see, it's a little off center from the cabinet screw but well within the 3 inch thickness of the support. It's rock solid.

Here is a installation hint: Make sure the bracket is level in reference to the cabinet. I used an angle level to make it easy. Since my RV is never perfectly level, I measured on the cabinet front than set the level on the bracket to be exactly 90 degrees off. If you don't do this, your TV will be crooked.

Nice eh?

This is picking up digital while out camping.  Just as good a satellite.

The bracket allows me to position it in any direction.
