Ike Kinswa State Park

March 2009

We went to Ike Kinswa State park this weekend. Friday I had the RV loaded and ready by 12:30 so Bonnie and I hit the road at 12:45. Traffic was a nightmare through Bellevue, Tacoma, and Olympia due to the terrible weather. At times the rain was so hard that traffic slowed to 30 MPH due to low visibility on I-5. The wind was making it hard to stay in my lane at times. We finally made it to the campground by 4PM.  Dean & Marilyn were already there. The campground didn't disappoint. Very nice and we got sites with a view of the lake next to one-another. We had a pleasant evening then Roger & Cindy showed up the next day. Unfortunately Dean & Marilyn had to leave Saturday due to a family emergency (Marilyn's father was in the hospital due to heart problems). We were all glad  to hear today that everything was OK with her father.

The weather was very nice on Saturday, much better than Friday. We had a good time checking out the campground and socializing.

Overall, this is a very nice campground. It has hookups that include water and electricity but no sewer connections at the campsites. They have both 50 amp and 30 amp service at every utility site (which was unusual for an old Washington state park as most have only 30 amp service). I hope to check this park out in the summer again.

The campsite pads were long. Some level but all had moss on them. In dire need of a pressure wash.
