Salmon LeSac

Memorial day weekend 2004

Took off in the RV with the toad behind on Thursday evening after work. I arrived at Salmon LeSac around 6PM. I arrived to rain and more rain. It was very wet but I managed to get the table canopy up, the RV awning out, and a campfire going then all was well. Surprisingly, it was very crowded already on Thursday evening when I arrived. Most river-front sites were already occupied by that time.

Roger arrived with his daughter, Darcy, on Friday around 11AM.. Cindy and Mandy arrived on Saturday afternoon. Roger had to take a site right across from me but not on the river side due to the fact that *all* river-view sites were all taken by the time he arrived. Luckily, they were able to move to a river site next to me after the mass exodus on Saturday due to the rain. So many fair weather campers out there.. The weather really wasn't all that bad. Of course, having a motor home does kind of help endure such nasty weather.

We had a great time. Was a bit wet on this trip but we ate good food and had a typical relaxed time as usual for a holiday weekend outing. It really was a great time with good friends.

Kyia on Saturday. He's looking for squirrel to pounce. Down the trail from my campsite, site 26, (towards the river). Kyia in the rare peak of sunshine. Another view.

That's Mandy, Roger's Daughter, riding her bike. Roger's site. he stayed in site 24. Roger's site after his wife and Mandy arrived on Saturday. This wasn't a bad site. Roger stayed here the first night as there were no river front sites available until Saturday.

See the rain in the sunshine.. Oh yeah, it was a weird weather weekend.. Sunshine and rain at the same time. One of the rare sun breaks that the water had enough time to evaporate.. See the steam from the canopy top?  ;) My wood pile on Sunday. This lasted the day..  Had a fire going morning until night due to the damp weather. The river right behind my camp site.
